As you probably know by now, I try to take Tucker with me everywhere. Unless I’m going to a grocery store, a restaurant (without al fresco tables) or any other spot with food, he’s usually with me.
Since Tucker first came into my life over 3 years ago, I have gone through a few dog bags. The first one really looked like a purse, but he eventually outgrew it.
I then had a second bag that I loved, but it ended up breaking after only 3 or 4 months. So, I went on the hunt for the perfect dog bag.
Since Tucker is constantly traveling on planes with me, I wanted a bag that was durable. We all know how dirty and damaged things can get on planes. I didn’t mind paying more for it since I hoped it would last for years and would obviously get plenty of use. And because I’m all about style, I wanted it to look cute, too.
There are plenty of places online you can purchase quality dog carriers. For example, Posh Puppy Boutique has a variety of types and for different price ranges. I purchased Tucker’s first bag from there (Again, there was nothing wrong with it. He just outgrew it).
If you don’t want to shell out the big bucks for a trendy one, our family dog has been using this one that’s currently on sale from Petsmart and it’s held up well. Keep in mind that he doesn’t travel as much as Tucker does, though.
When I lived in New York, my sister suggested trying a store called DoggyStyle near NYU. It’s been about 2 years since I bought this gray one I’m carrying here, but I’m sure they still have plenty of cute options. The only catch is that they were pricier. I think this one I have for Tuck now was around $200 or $250. But it’s completely worth it if you constantly have your doggy in tow. There’s another store in that same area, called Wagwear, that should have dog carriers as well.
Tucker never actually lets me zip up the bag, but he does love it. He prefers to keep his head out in the open to survey the area for any predators. I just stick a baby blanket and a toy or two in there. He’s all set!
I hope this helps any of you who are looking for a stylish dog carrier! We can’t all splurge on the Louis Vuitton one. Michael Kors had an amazing one, too, but it sold out years ago and I haven’t been able to find it since. Ugh, I’ll let you know if it magically reappears again.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Thanks for stopping by!
