Happy weekend! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited for fall. I’m still in the NC mountains for the next month so the trees have started changing colors and we’ve had several days in the 50’s and below, particularly before/during Irma.

Your city might not be quite ready to introduce fall (including my home state of Florida), but there’s no harm in prepping for it! I’ve been seeking out my favorite outerwear for fall and am ready to collect a few more jackets for the upcoming weather.

Here are a few pieces I’m planning on purchasing for the season:

1. Denim jacket: I’m still on the hunt for the perfectly-oversized one. There was one from ASOS I became obsessed about a couple of months ago, but it didn’t look great on me. I still think there was just something wrong with me and not the jacket itself. I’m loving the two above (#6 and #7). I’m usually not a fan of pearls on clothes because I find it too girly, but I love the way they’re placed on #7.

2. Bomber jacket with something extra: It’s no secret the traditional bomber jacket has been on-trend for awhile, but I’ve been searching for one with a twist: a unique color, mix of textures, an interesting shoulder. Jackets such as #8, #9, #11, #13 and #14 have different types of that something extra. I literally want them all! I also like that they’re great for different fall temperatures. You can throw lighter ones (#9) on in more moderate climates while others (#11, #14) will keep you warm during cooler falls.

3. Longer blazer: Since I’ve exited the corporate world, I’ve stayed away from blazers. They remind me too much of the boardroom and bring me back to the days I spent in an office. However, I’ve been loving the oversized/boyfriend blazers, especially ones that are longer and have double-breasted buttons (#2 and #15)! They look effortlessly chic with a silk tank, a distressed pair of denim and some booties.

4. Tweed jacket: It’s so classic! Tweed has been worn for decades and can instantly make you look girly, sophisticated and profesh. Like a longer, more masculine blazer, a tweed jacket pairs great with basics. There are so many colors and textures to choose from this season.

In other news, I want to get back to regular scheduling with the blog. The last couple of weeks have been distracting with Irma and a few other things going on in my personal life. I’m planning to go back to my Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday posting schedule. Again, I’m so sorry for being absent on social media! This blog is what I love to do and I can’t imagine having to go back to a 9-5 job after being able to do this.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the weekend!
